NoNotification 0.9.9 Prevent Unwanted Notifications in Ubuntu

How to install NoNotification in Ubuntu - NoNotification nonotifs or NoNotifications in full name is a simple indicator for Ubuntu to temporarily suppress notifications of notify-osd ( notify-send ). It's handy tools to prevent unwanted notification in your Ubuntu Linux.

The latest version lets you to suppressing only notifications containing specific strings or only allowing notifications with specific strings.

Another new NoNotification's feature is an option to include storing missed notifications in a log file. The missed notifications can now be accessed from the its indicator menu.

Installing NoNotifs in Ubuntu 14.04 / 16.04 / 16.10 / 17.04

Thankfully, NoNotification indicator is available in a PPA. So you can get the newer version when theres any updates. The app can be installed in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Trusty Tahr, 16.04 LTS Xenial Xerus, 16.10 Yaketty Yak, and 17.04 ZestyZapus.

Step 1 - Open new terminal window then add the PPA into the Ubuntu system :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vlijm/nonotifs

Step 2 - Run the commnad below to update list of available packages

sudo apt update

Step 3 - Once updated, now run the following command :

sudo apt install nonotifs
