First, please make sure you have installed Unity Tweak Tool in order to change Ubuntu's icons. You can install Elementary Add Icon on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Xenia Xerus, Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Trusty Tahr from its official PPA by following this guide :

Step 1 - Open new terminal window then add this PPA to Ubuntu system :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:elementary-add-team/icons

Step 2 - Update the local repository index by simply run the command below :

sudo apt-get update

Step 3 - Now, run the following to install Elementary OS Style Icon Theme in your Ubuntu desktop :

sudo apt-get install elementary-add-icon-theme

Once installed, now open Unity Tweak Tool and change the icon. Additionally, you can install a dock apps such as Docky and Plank dock.
