How to Download and Install Zoom on Ubuntu, Linux Mint Using Terminal

Linuxslaves.com - Today I'm gonna show you how to install Zoom on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, 18.04 LTS, 16.04 LTS, and its based distributions. So you can also use this guide on Linux Mint, Elementary, Pop! OS, Zorin, KDE Neon, etc.
Zoom is a video telephony and online chat services through a cloud-based peer-to-peer software platform and is used for teleconferencing, telecommuting, distance education, and social relations.

Install Zoom on Ubuntu and Derivatives

Installing one of the most popular video conferencing software on Linux is quite easy. It's available on snap store, so you can install it easily via Ubuntu Software Center, or simply running sudo snap install zoom-client via the Terminal.

But (as may you already know), snap is costs the storage. It's just one downside of snap. And thankfully, they offer traditional packages for Linux, including :

So let's start by opening the web browser and head to its official website at https://zoom.us/download.

Fill the Linux type, OS Architecture (32 bit or 64 bit), version with your lovely distribution, hit the Download button, and save the zoom.deb package.

Once finished, now browse the downloaded file > right click on empty space > choose Open in Terminal > then run the following command :

sudo dpkg -i zoom_*.deb
sudo apt -f install
