How to Install PPSSPP 1.7 in Ubuntu 18.04, 18.10, 16.04, 14.04

Install PPSSPP PSP Emulator 1.7 in Ubuntu via PPA

Thanks to the team for providing the PPA repository. It makes the installation much easier than building from source code. Here are all you have to do :

Step 1 - Press Ctrl+Alt+T to open Ubuntu terminal, then run the following command :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ppsspp/stable

Type your password (no visual feedback while typing) when it prompts, press Enter to continue

Step 2 - Resynchronize the package index files :

sudo apt-get update

Ubuntu 18.04 and higher is not required run apt update since it automatically refresh repository caches after adding PPA

Step 3 - Now run this to install or upgrade PPSSPP in Ubuntu Linux :

sudo apt-get install ppsspp

Replace ppsspp with ppsspp-sdl for the SDL version.
