Fix Opera Can't Play Video in Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Elementary OS, and More

Linuxslaves.com - So, in my test, Opera for Linux is working pretty fine with YouTube and Facebook videos. Unfortunately, there are some websites where video doesn't play e.g Instragram and Twitter.



Instagram keeps show me static image while Twitter says the media could not be played. Installing chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra via APT from repository workarround is no longer work.

Fix Opera Linux Can Not Play Video

It's a prebuilt binaries with proprietary codecs for major operating system like Linux, Microsoft Windows, and macOS.


All you have to do is download it from this page, extract the archive, and copy extracted libffmpeg.so to opera lib folder as shown in the video below :
