Grub Customizer Features
With grub customizer, you can :
- Move, remove or rename menuentries (they stey updatable by update-grub)
- Edit the contents of menuentries or create new ones (internally it edits the 40_custom)
- Support for GRUB2 and BURG
- Reinstallation of the bootloader to MBR
- Settings like default operating system, kernel params, background image and text colors etc
- Changing the installed operating system by running on a Live CD
Install Grub Costumizer on Ubuntu Linux
Thanks to the developer, installing Grub Customizer on Ubuntu, Linux Mint And Elementary OS systems is easy. The packages are available for Ubuntu-based distributions (18.10 Cosmic Cuttlefish, 18.04 Bionic Beaver, 16.04 Xenial Xerus, and 14.04 Trusty Tahr).

All you have to do is :
- Add the PPA to your system
- Update the local repository index
- Install the grub-customizer
Step 1 - Press Ctrl+Alt+T to open Ubuntu terminal, then run the following command :
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:danielrichter2007/grub-customizer
Type your password (no visual feedback while typing) when it prompts, press Enter to continue as shown :
Step 2 - Resynchronize the package index files :
sudo apt-get update
Tip : Ubuntu 18.04 and higher is not required run apt update since it automatically refresh repository caches after adding PPA
Step 3 - Now run this to install the app :
sudo apt-get install grub-customizer
